What is the IIM Trichy cutoff for 2026?
Two sets of percentiles apply, and they answer different questions. The JAP 2026 minimum decides who may register. IIM Trichy’s own table lists the higher cut-offs used for its PI shortlist.

The JAP policy warns that actual cut-offs “may be much higher” than these minimums, and the Trichy table bears that out: 95.25 against 90 for General.
Are these the actual IIM Trichy call cutoffs?
The 95.25 figure is the institute’s published shortlist cut-off for 2026-28, which makes Trichy more transparent than most IIMs. It still does not guarantee a call, because shortlists are drawn by rank within each category and depend on how many seats JAP plans to fill. Other “IIM Trichy call cutoff” numbers on coaching sites, especially for earlier years, are not institute data. IIM Trichy does publish merit and waitlist movement PDFs for each batch on the same admissions page, including PGPM 2026-28.

The page does not explain how Class 10, Class 12 and UG scores are normalised. It lists no WAT weight in the final score.

Part-time work, projects, internships, articleship and pre-graduation experience do not count. Candidates must show appointment and relieving dates and a work-experience certificate at registration. The JAP policy adds that only work backed by TDS, PF or professional tax deductions is valid, and that salary paid in cash or by UPI does not count.

How does JAP 2026 work for IIM Trichy?
JAP 2026 is a shared registration and interview process for IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Tiruchirappalli, coordinated by IIM Raipur (IIM Trichy press release, September 2025).
- Candidates who chose any of the four IIMs in the CAT 2025 form and meet the JAP minimums get an email invitation to register on the JAP 2026 portal. Registration is mandatory and is not an interview call.
- Registered candidates are shortlisted for PI on CAT 2025 scores, by category.
- The PI is common to all four IIMs. For 2026-28, IIM Trichy listed venues in Bangalore, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and at IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Tiruchirappalli.
- Each IIM then prepares its own merit list with its own weights and runs its own fee deposit and offer acceptance.

What the formula means for your profile
24 to 29 months of work experience. Trichy gives full work-experience points only in this band. IIM Ranchi also weights work experience at 10% but pays full points across a wider band (more than 24 and up to 36 months); IIM Udaipur gives it 6%.
Freshers. Zero work-experience points means 10% of the composite is out of reach. A higher CAT percentile has to cover the gap.
Women and non-engineers. Gender diversity carries 6% and academic diversity 2%, so a female non-engineer with First Class can collect 8%.
Academics. Class 10, Class 12 and UG together weigh 10%, lower than at most older IIMs.
