What IPMAT is for
If you want an IIM pathway straight after Class 12, you are usually looking at five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) seats, not CAT-based MBA admission. IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak each run their own aptitude test (often branded IPMAT / IPM AT in public conversation). Do not assume one score transfers to both.

IIM Indore IPM (domestic applicants, 2026-31 batch framing)
IIM Indore’s published procedure for the IPM 2026-31 domestic batch requires:
- Standard XII / HSC passed in 2024 or 2025, or appearing in 2026
- Standard X / SSC already passed
The aptitude test (IPM AT) for that cycle was scheduled for 4 May 2026 (afternoon shift) with three sections answered in a fixed order:
- Quantitative Ability (MCQ)
- Quantitative Ability (Short Answer)
- Verbal Ability (MCQ)
Each section is 40 minutes. Each question carries 4 marks; wrong MCQs attract −1; short-answer items have no negative marking. Source: IIM Indore IPM 2026-31 admission procedure (PDF).

After the test, Indore shortlists for further evaluation (including personal interview stages as defined in the same procedure). Treat the PDF’s stage weights as authoritative for that batch.
IIM Rohtak IPM
IIM Rohtak publishes separate eligibility. For the 2026 cycle framing on its admissions page:
- Minimum 60% in Class X and XII (55% for SC/ST/DAP)
- Maximum age 20 years as of 30 June 2026 (25 for SC/ST)
Application and test windows (as published for that cycle) included online applications from 6 Feb 2026 to 6 Apr 2026, with IPM AT tentatively on 10 May 2026. Rohtak’s aptitude test evaluates quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and verbal proficiency. Confirm section structure and duration in the prospectus for your year (Rohtak IPM prospectus materials).

- Build Class 11-12 quantitative fluency plus timed verbal accuracy
- For Rohtak, add deliberate logical reasoning practice if that section is in your year’s paper

IPM versus PGP: do not mix
IPMAT feeds integrated programmes such as Indore IPM. It is not a junior CAT and does not share PGP cutoff hearsay. Keep separate folders for IPM and PGP documents if both exist in a household. See Indore selection.

No. Indore and Rohtak run separate processes. Other IIMs with IPM-style offerings may add their own tests; always check that campus.
